A New View

Scared is an understatement for what we went through Times when we didn't know what the next day will bring I did not know this was going to get bad Like you could go in school and not school New memories in a frightening time Swift as the wind Each month since last March flew by Ruined because of Covid-19 Nothing has ever been the same since I never thought the virus would last a year Never thought I would go into a new grade all virtual And in the middle of an entire pandemic Dreadful and painful This Covid is bad It made me wanna burst Falling in an endless hole from which we couldn't escape But apparently it wasn't enough It has been too hard Covid hurt Covid is dark And so is the sky at night

We lost many that we loved, but we all stuck together to get through this

All I know is that last year I have hated this pandemic

Far away we went, but now we have returned Lazar has been an escape from the real world I am delighted to be back Back here after a year has been different Schools have reopened; we´re closer to normalcy Anxious. The weight lifts off my chest returning to school Nice to be back, but still not the same The strange feeling makes a change in place

Relieved, and I've never been happier to be in school Not sure where I'm heading, but it won't be boring To reach our goals after striving and persevering is astonishing But my family, friends, and teachers made it better, I love being back in school because I see my friends and everyone else They helped me during the hard times. This year was a struggle, but I made it with a smile Grateful to be back with my friends

Grateful and happy to finally be here TOGETHER Thrilled, now that I see people that make me elated We trudged through the year together despite setbacks Became stronger and fought this nightmare Through ups and downs we shall stick together

Frightening, full of new experiences But I knew I would get through it
